Interview

ODA must evolve, but cautiously, says the new guardian of OECD aid Carsten Staur

News December 09, 2022 / By: Bjørn H Amland

Carsten Staur, the newly appointed Chair of the OECD’s aid watchdog DAC, says there is huge pressure on Official Development Assistance (ODA) from multiple global crises. The donor forum DAC defines what can be counted as ODA. Changes in the definition must be managed in a “careful and cautious” way, Staur says in an interview with Development Today.
