Indonesia’s sudden exit from 12-year climate deal: a ‘significant blow’ to Norwegian rainforest initiative

Citing Norway’s failure to fulfil its payment obligations, the Indonesian government announced last week that it has terminated its bilateral climate forest cooperation with Norway. Experts view the move as a huge setback for the Norwegian rainforest initiative and the whole result-based approach to forest conservation.
