IMF allocation of USD 650 billion in currency reserves unlikely to solve immediate covid funding crisis

Nordic governments have been issued USD 20 billion worth of Special Drawing Rights by the International Monetary Fund (IMF) as part of a historic allocation. While the IMF urges rich countries to channel some of these SDRs to countries devastated by the pandemic, the Nordics have no immediate plans to do so.
