New Danish aid strategy embraces Nordic priorities, omits contentious asylum export plan

Denmark’s new aid strategy is aligned with traditional Nordic priorities such as human rights, democracy, and climate. The government tried to include in the strategy its plan to establish an asylum centre in Africa for refugees from Denmark but did not have the necessary political support. Meanwhile, the UK government is showing a keen interest in the Danish approach to asylum seekers.
