Norway ready to release Guyana climate aid. Amaila Falls dam is back in the mix

The resolution of a five-month political stand-off in Guyana, which ended with the swearing in of Irfaan Ali as President in August, has unlocked NOK 400 million in Norwegian aid, the Climate Ministry in Oslo confirms. But the bilateral climate forest deal may be facing yet another political twist: the new government says it wants to revive the controversial Amaila Falls dam project.
