Sluggish donor response to CEPI’s pandemic prevention ask

News October 01, 2026 / By: Ann Danaiya Usher

The Coalition for Epidemic Preparedness Innovations (CEPI) is asking donors for USD 2.5 billion to reduce the likelihood of a future global health emergency, but it has so far raised less than one-fifth of the target amount. With three months remaining before the start of the next five-year strategy period, only four of CEPI’s 13 top donors have pledged funding. CEPI expects more pledges in the coming months.
