OCHA responds to critics. ‘No u-turn on localisation’

The head of the UN humanitarian Country-Based Pooled Funds Alice Armanni Sequi acknowledges the dramatic increase in allocations to UN agencies over the past half-year, following the large injection of cash from the US government. In an interview with Development Today, she insists that OCHA’s commitment to localisation remains firm, and she foresees a larger role for local actors in the upcoming second USD 1.8 billion US tranche.
