Norwegian-supported actors spar over historic forest carbon credit deal in Guyana

The lucrative sale of 33 million tonnes worth of carbon credits by Guyana last December, heralded as the dawn of a new era in tropical forest financing, has triggered a dispute between an indigenous NGO, the government in Georgetown, and a forest carbon crediting agency. All have received financing from the Norwegian Climate Ministry.
