Wangari Maathai considers ‘liaison’ role in de Soto commission

DT has learned that the Kenyan Nobel Laureate Professor Wangari Maathai has accepted in principle to be associated with the High-Level Commission on Legal Empowerment of the Poor. Maathai is reportedly in close dialogue with the secretariat for the commission. She has indicated that she wants to have a special role as “liaison officer" with civil society.
