Most of Norway’s corona pledge is not being counted by EU in global tally

News May 08, 2020 / By: Ann Danaiya Usher

The bulk of Norway’s billion-dollar pledge to this week’s corona summit will not be counted in the official tally, an EU official tells Development Today. The Norwegian money does not comply with criteria set by the European Commission ahead of the meeting. Norway was widely hailed as being the largest donor to the corona appeal, while in fact France, the United Kingdom, Germany and the host EU gave larger amounts.
