GAVI’s COVID19 vaccine initiative under fire for being hasty and secretive

The GAVI secretariat is rushing through a proposal for a multi-billion-dollar financing mechanism for coronavirus vaccine that it will present to donors in two days. The scheme could tie up huge amounts of aid funds for years to come. Civil society was kept out of the process until the last minute, and not even the GAVI board has discussed the scheme.
