Donors slow to fund global coronavirus response, WHO seeks private money

Rich countries have pledged billions of dollars to deal with their own coronavirus outbreaks, but they have been slow to fund the World Health Organisation’s response to the global crisis. In an unprecedented move, WHO is now turning to the general public, foundations and firms like Facebook and Google to step in where governments have failed.
