New call for proposals tests Norway’s willingness to provide direct funding to indigenous-led organisations

News March 11, 2025 / By: Ann Danaiya Usher

The aid agency Norad has announced a new call for proposals for civil society programmes working on tropical forest protection. With growing demands from indigenous leaders for a larger share of climate financing, this call will test Norway’s willingness to provide funding directly to indigenous-led organisations, instead of channelling money through other bodies, like conservation NGOs or UN agencies.
