Former oil fund chief challenges restrictions on renewable energy investments

The Norwegian oil fund is now so big that it should invest more in emerging economies, says the fund’s former head Knut N. Kjær. He questions current rules barring investments in renewable energy projects outside Europe and North America. “I really cannot understand why [the fund] is lagging behind targets in building this portfolio,” he says to Development Today.
