More than 1,000 organisations make first cut in Sida civil society funding call

The Swedish aid agency Sida was inundated with more than 2,700 expressions of interest for its new civil society funding arrangement last week. In the first cut, 40 per cent of the applicants from around the world have made it to the next round, including 27 “new” Swedish organisations. The vast majority are from the Global South.
