UN calls for ‘new and early’ pledges for loss and damage ahead of Dubai climate summit

A new loss and damage fund, expected to be formalised at the upcoming climate summit in Dubai, could require billions of dollars over the coming decades, a UN report says. Last year, Denmark became the first OECD donor to commit money for loss and damage. But this year, no donor has yet pledged new money for the fund.
