DAC chair questions 0.7% aid goal

Opinion December 20, 2012

The American diplomat and academic Brian Atwood, who completes his term as Chair of the OECD’s Development Assistance Committee (DAC) at the end of this year, is a purist when it comes to aid. In an interview with Development Today he suggests that the 0.7% of GNI aid target may have outlived its usefulness. Instead, to cut through the reigning confusion, he proposes three categories of aid.
