Norfund aims for a foothold in Burma

The Norwegian aid-financed investment fund Norfund hopes to initiate a micro-financing programme for poor farmers in the delta area of Southern Burma. The conditions for initial investments in the country are less promising than expected, Norfund officials conclude after a recent visit to Burma.
