Finnish-Kenyan AIDS drug aims for global market

UCL, a Kenya-based drug manufacturer in Finnfund’s investment portfolio, is one of just a handful of African companies to have a medicine approved by WHO for sale on the global market.

But to win contracts with big buyers like Global Fund, Pepfar or Unicef, UCL must compete against Indian drug manufacturers.
