Limits of donor engagement in human rights in Ethiopia

Western donors are largely silent about human rights abuses in Ethiopia. Security concerns, diverging donor interests and the presence of China as an alternative source of financing contribute to making Ethiopia a unique case in Africa, writes Solomon Gashaw Tadese.
