Day of reckoning for Global Fund

An international panel’s critical report of the Global Fund calls for fundamental changes in the way the organisation handles risk and corruption at a time when donor tolerance - and money - are running out.

It gives credit to the fund’s Inspector General for detecting and reporting fraud and abuse, and to the Board for its willingness to publish findings. But the panel concludes that deterioration at the Global Fund is accelerating and it “must reform itself to remain relevant”.
