Norfund asks for NOK 1b aid crisis package

The Norwegian aid-financed risk capital fund Norfund has requested an extraordinary NOK 1 billion injection of capital to invest in Sub-Saharan Africa to counter a downward trend in foreign investments in the region following the international finance crisis. The requested funds amount to 0.7 per cent of Norway’s domestic financial package to meet the crisis.
