Phoenix of Helsinki: NDF revived as climate grant fund

Three and a half years ago, the owners decided to close down the Nordic Development Fund, which had provided soft loans amounting to EUR 1 billion for infrastructure projects in developing countries.

The Nordic governments have now changed their minds and will continue the Helsinki-based fund, following strong pressure from Finland and Nordic institutions. In future, NDF will provide climate grants for projects in developing countries.
