GIEK’s guarantee frame expanded from NOK 1.5b to NOK 2.1b

GIEK has been granted an extended frame for its special guarantee scheme for developing countries. Though the extension is much smaller than GIEK’s original request, it is big enough to respond to guarantee applications that have piled up at GIEK. It is not sufficient to take on large new projects like the Karuma hydropower project in Uganda.
