The cost of not funding reproductive health

Ten years after the International Conference on Population and Development (ICPD) in Cairo, AIDS, pregnancy, childbirth and unsafe abortion still claim 3.5 million lives a year. At Cairo, donors endorsed an approach to improving reproductive health and they agreed to pay for it. We have just marked the tenth anniversary of the conference. How close are we to achieving those goals?
