Norwegian aid secures Statkraft’s stake in contentious hydro project

The Norwegian state-owned investment company SN Power has committed almost NOK 300 million (USD 45 million) in equity for two hydropower projects in Northern India, the existing Malana Dam and the planned 192-megawatt Allain Duhangan project. The Compliance Advisor Ombudsman (CAO) of the IFC is currently investigating a complaint about Allain Duhangan filed by affected villagers earlier this month.
