Nordics scale up funding to World Bank’s USD 82b package for poor countries

World Bank donors agreed to a record funding package of grants and loans for poor countries at a gathering in Stockholm last Friday. The host country Sweden pledged a USD 1 billion grant for the Bank’s efforts, mainly in Africa, while China finally came forward as a large donor.
