Socialist Left Minister makes u-turn, boosts World Bank funding

When the Red-Green Norwegian government took office two years ago, it promised to increase funding to the UN at the expense of the World Bank. Now it is doing the opposite.

In the aid budget for 2008, the Socialist Left Development Minister Erik Solheim scales up World Bank funding by more than 10 per cent, while UN agencies receive only a moderate increase.
