Sida humanitarian help desk
Sida is looking to complement its internal expertise on human security and humanitarian assistance with a team of external advisors to provide short-term support as a help desk function.
Sweden is a major humanitarian donor. It was the 5th largest bilateral donor in 2014, with over 5 billion SEK in humanitarian assistance. Sida is responsible for managing approximately 60 per cent of Sweden’s Humanitarian assistance.
A large part of Sida’s humanitarian assistance goes to conflict-related crises such as Afghanistan, DRC, Iraq, Palestine, Somalia , Sudan, South Sudan and Syria.
The advisors will assist Sida to ensure adherence to relevant Swedish policies, based on a framework agreement.
They will be asked to assist with the following types of tasks: mapping of drivers for peace and conflict; conflict sensitivity assessments of projects; participating in trainings/seminars arranged by Sida.
Previously, help desk assignments have varied between SEK 1.7 million and SEK 2.5 million. Sida does not guarantee a volume, but expects it to increase due to the growing focus on human security and humanitarian assistance.
The deadline is January 27, 2016.
