Sida’s stake in Bagamoyo hangs by a thread

With less than two months remaining on an agreement between the Swedish aid agency Sida and the Swedish biofuel company Bagamoyo EcoEnergy (BEE), there is no resolution in sight for the firm’s ambitious sugar project in Tanzania. If the firm does not produce an investor by the end of the year, Sida stands to lose up to SEK 54 million.
