Andean energy and environment

The Finnish Foreign Ministry invites tenders for a consultancy contract for continued implementation of the Energy and Environment Partnership Programme (EEP) in the Andes during the period August 2014 to the end of 2016.

Finland has been supporting the Andean EEP since 2011, covering four countries in the region: Bolivia, Columbia, Ecuador and Peru.

The overall objective of the programme is to contribute to fair, inclusive and sustainable employment generation, and to promote climate change mitigation. It works in the fields of renewable energy and energy efficiency, mainly in rural areas. The programme is implemented by the Lima-based Inter-American Institute for Agriculture, a specialised agency under the OAS.

Starting in 2014, the Andean EEP will launch its third call for project proposals on access to and use of sustainable energy for productive use in rural areas.

It also aims to disseminate widely lessons learned from projects, and aim for replication and scaling up. The programme may finance some small actions to facilitate this.

The deadline for the submission of tenders is May 30, 2014.
