Support to indigenous people in Guatemala

Sida is entering the third phase of a programme aimed at supporting the rights of the Oxlajuj Tz’ikin indigenous people in Guatemala during 2014-2017.

The objective of the programme is to strengthen the capacity of indigenous people and their organisations so they can achieve recognition and exercise their individual and collective rights.

Sida announces a tender for the administration of the support mechanism. The entity will be responsible for the technical, administrativea nd financial management of the mechanism.

Entities participating in this procurement should have political independence, they must have a strong indentification with human rights and, in particular, the individual and collective rights of indigenous peoples.

They must also have proven experience of working on the issue, and be familiar with managing funds.

The deadline for submitting tenders is January 3, 2014.
