New OECD figures: record-high Swedish aid in 2009
The Nordic countries strengthen their role in western aid last year in the midst of the global financial crisis, shows new figures from the OECD.
Aid from Sweden and Norway now bypass Canada and Italy, both members of the G7 Club, in real terms. Denmark and Finland also improved their performance and were ranked No. 4 and 7 among OECD donors, measured as a share of GNI.
