Swedes hold strong position, Norway wiped out of markets in aid-funded countries

Norwegian industry has been knocked out of the markets in African countries that are main recipients of Norwegian aid, a review of Swedish and Norwegian trade figures for Africa by Development Today shows. Swedish exporters seem to do quite well in these countries, in spite of increasing competition over the last decade.

Major Danish mixed credit awarded to MT Højgaard

The Danish supplier MT Højgaard AS has been awarded a contract in Bangladesh through the Danida mixed credits programme worth EUR 84m (DKK 626m) in a 50/50 consortium with the French company Dégremont for the Dhaka Water Supply and Sewerage Authority (DWASA).

OECD progress report on untying aid

A recent report from the OECD, “Untying aid: Is it working?”, concludes that that as much as 83 per cent of OECD country aid is formally untied, multilateral aid included.
