The Swedish consultancy SWECO has been awarded a SEK 4.6 million contract by the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (Sida) for the repair of a pharaonic temple in Luxor (El Uqsur), Egypt.

The Danida Board has approved DKK 60 million in support for the Nile Basin Initiative over a period from 2004 to 2008. NBI was launched in 2001 and represents a regional effort by the ten riparian countries - among the poorest, most debt and conflict-ridden in the world - to enhance cooperation in the use of the Nile’s resources. NBI’s Secretariat is in Entebbe, Uganda.
Uganda has received a credit of EUR 12.7 million from the Nordic Development Fund (NDF) toward the cost of the Fourth Power Project. Part of this credit will be used to finance the extension and refurbishment of Lira, Lugazi, Masaka,West and Mbarara North sub-stations.
