Fed up with donors, Uganda to finance dams itself

Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni has pledged at least USD 100 million per year for the next five years to finance at least one power dam, according to Kampala-based The Monitor.

The Theun Hinboun Power Corporation (THPC) in Laos, in which the Norwegian state-owned power company Statkraft holds a 20 per cent stake, has obtained the rights to develop the Nam Theun 3, a hydropower power project upstream from the Theun Hinboun Dam.

Natura gains foothold in new Vietnam Ministry

Rambøll Natura has been contracted by the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (Sida) to support the recently established Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment to develop and integrate the environment and land administration sectors in Vietnam.
