US tax authorities to decide on charity status of Gates’ Vaccine Fund

The Vaccine Fund is preparing a report for the US Internal Revenue Service (IRS) to maintain its favourable publicly-supported charity status. Norway’s recent pledge of NOK 1.5 billion until 2010 could do the trick as the Vaccine Fund makes its case to IRS.

Swedish consultants convicted for bribing World Bank officials

Earlier this month two Swedes were found guilty of bribing World Bank officials by the Municipal Court of Hüddinge outside Stockholm. The two sentences were of one year and 18 months in prison.

Aid covers 60% of Norwegian soldiers’ costs in Iraq
